We sent out kegs this week to the following retail accounts. If you’re out and about in the Seattle area, look for Elliott Bay beer at these fine establishments:
Last Friday we brewed another installment of our Pro-Am series. These recipes are scaled-up versions of award-winning home brew batches that we serve at our two pubs and enter in the Great American Beer Festival (GABF) in Denver, CO.
This year we teamed up with Vashon Island home brewer Tim Heryford to make his Black Pepper Porter. West Seattle Lead Brewer, Dan Ashley, and Tim pulled off the brew yesterday. The beer will need to ferment, then we’ll “dry-peppercorn” the batch to boost its aroma, and age it a bit before releasing it to our patrons. Look for it on tap in mid-to-late August.
Here’s an on-the-job photo of Dan and Tim in our West Seattle brew house.
EBBC owner Todd Carden at “Brazen Head” in Ireland.
“Dating back to 1198, The Brazen Head is Ireland’s oldest pub. When you consider that licensing laws only came into effect in 1635, this pub has been serving alcohol before offical licensing laws were even enacted. A short walk from Christchurch Cathedral and The Guinness Brewery, The Brazen Head is well worth a visit for both its historic value and reputation as one of Dublin’s best Irish music venues.”
Be sure to come by the BEER GARDEN in front of our West Seattle pub. It went live last night and will remain open until Sunday evening.
While your there, try our latest creation, the Saison de la Chance, a Belgian-style farmhouse ale brewed together with guest brewer Jason Parker, of Pike, Redhook, Fish, and Pyramid fame.
Be aware, though, that it can be challenging to find parking in the Junction during the WS Summer Fest, so be patient, ride your bike, walk, or take the bus!
